“Bergland” in the web wants to tempt you. “Bergland” live is a holiday dream – surely better than pictures or words can be.

The Hotel Bergland beneath the Zugspitze (2980 m, highest mountain in Germany) is located in the middle of the Zugspitz village Grainau but nevertheless fantastically quiet.

We, your hosts, Thomas and Heidrun Marcinowski, have started our profession from the bottom and after 30 years, are still passionate hosts – you will surely appreciate it.

Hotel Bergland has a long history as a comfortable private hotel. We want to continue this and add pleasures from kitchen and winery. We not only want to spoil you but let you have the freedom to organize your holidays just as you imagined. Our offers in the house and for the surroundings are multiple and varied – you just have to choose and we’ll give our advice with pleasure.

You’ll find a singular symbiosis of these three in our Werdenfels country. Fascination of a majestic landscape, impressive cultural monuments and performances of highest quality.

Grainau is  a pittoresque mountain village amidst high-towering mountains (up to 3000 m) and starting point for beautiful hiking tours and scenic walks through breezy mountain forests and across quiet alpine pastures and high alpine tours.  In winter: ski total with guarantee of snow on the Zugspitze and well-kept cross-country and foot-paths through the solitude of quiet mountain valleys. Restaurants and shopping for every taste, a variety of sports for the young and not so young.

Only 2 km from the idyllic mountain village Grainau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen with its many attractions of city life: casino, discos, various cultural events. Music and theater around the year:  festival of brass music, cabaret, pop open-air and classic music festival like the Richard-Strauß-Festival during the Garmisch-Partenkirchen musical summer.

The nearby attractions  like the castles of king Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, the Wieskirche, Ettal monastery, the passion play village Oberammergau, museums of Blauer Reiter, Gabriele Münter and Franz Marc in Murnau and Kochel, the open air museum Glentleiten/Kochelsee and the imperial city of Innsbruck can be enjoyed in the not too far distance from the comfort and convenience of „Hotel BERGLAND“.
